Pneumatic rivet squeezers perform exactly the same task as Manual Rivet Squeezers, but utilize air to get the job done instead of the "grunt" of the builder. Like Manual Rivet Squeezers the Pneumatic Rivet Squeezers use squeezer yokes to control the squeezer dies and actually squeeze the rivet.

There is another style of pneumatic squeezer which is called an "alligator style" squeezer. Other than knowing the jaws "pinch" like an alligator's jaws close, I know nothing about these .. why they are good .. what they are best used for .. or anything. Please jump in here and add something of substance about these squeezers!

This is my Chicago Pneumatic alligator squeezer. I MUCH prefer it to the more common "C" type which I also possess but rarely use. Since I pounded rivets for a living for 34 years, I've used every pneumatic squeezer known to man. Believe me, this squeezer will reach areas inaccessable to a "C." For instance, try to imagine squeezing rivets onto a clip attached to a stiffener already riveted to the floor of the airframe. It would be impossible to do with a "C" type but childs play with this puppy. It happens to be much more ergonomically friendly to the operator that the common "C". It is the superior choice when used for dimpling operations too. I find it a rare situation indeed when the "C" type is the better option in the overwhelming number of construction situations. For my money, the alligator squeezer is the hands down winner in any competition between the two configurations and this opinion is based upon decades of production experience using all manner of pneumatic squeezers.
