Got the landing gear from Zenith and put the brake pads on with the flat side of gear facing forward, pads facing aft. Then for some reason I looked at the older plans and placed the notches into the top of gear with the flat side facing rearward. Realizing my mistake, I then called Zenith who said it was OK to cut in additional notches to match the newer plans, i.e. flat side facing forward.
